Hello!
I’m Elsa
In this section, you will find information about me, my background and my education. I will as well explain the values and the mission I am working with. And last but not least, my terms and conditions.
Who am I
I am Elsa, a french-norwegian 29 years old human, trying to make the best out of what life has so far given me. My story is the story of many who suddenly got their life put upside-down by an illness. For me, it was fibromyalgia. Living with chronic pain and fatigue robbed a lot out of what I thought was going to be my life. And days by days, I saw my mobility reducing and when yoga got into my life, I could see the day where I would have to use a wheelchair. I learned a lot through yoga, it helped me so much that I wish to give back to my community today!
Outside of my health situation, I am a plants and cat mom, I love to bake, to read too many books at the same time and to solve puzzles. On the good days, you’ll also see me hiking through the norwegian mountains, and floating in a warm pool on the less good ones.
My Education
University
In what I call my previous life, aka before the chronic illness, I was a researcher in Geophysics. I got an engineer diploma from France and a Ph.D. from the university of Oslo.
Yoga
After 5 years of pratising for myself only, I took a 200-h yoga training in Accessible Yoga from Mars to August 2023. I would definitely advise to check out their website!
Ad vitam aeternam
I do love to learn, so my education both formal and in yoga is a constant theme in my life. I’ll do my best to share books, and references, or scientific papers on yoga, fibromyalgia, health or any topics that recently caught my interest!
Vision & Mission
Vision
I want to make yoga accessible for all people living with chronic pain and illness. Yoga has helped me so much and I wish to give back to my community (aka the Spoonies and all of you who suffer). From people in wheelchairs to the ones able to handstand, we are here to learn, understand our body, respect its limit and play with it.
Mission
I dream of creating an open and safe space that will bring calmness and pain relief. I want to adapt with you and your needs, to show you a yoga that can lessen the weight of the pain and bring back the joy of moving our body. My goal is to give you all the necessary keys to create a personal practice that you will be able to take home with you for the rest of your life.
Terms & Conditions
[The boring but very important part]
Booking
All private classes must be scheduled at least three days in advance. There will be no refunds of the fees paid for unused private classes, but the classes may be transferred to someone else.
Cancellations and Lateness
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
This means that if you need to cancel a class but do not let me know more than 24 hours before the scheduled class time, you will pay a cancellation fee of the price of the class. In the event of an emergency or sudden illness requiring cancellation with less than 24 hours notice, I will allow the class to be rescheduled, though the cancellation fee will still be collected at the time of the canceled appointment and applied as payment to the future appointment.
If you arrive late, we will still end the class at the scheduled time.
I do however understand that miscommunications and forgotten appointments happen from time to time and will waive the cancellation fee for the first missed appointment or late cancellation.
